A chemical compound known as 2,2-bipyridine-4,4-diamine is made up of two pyridine rings that are joined together by a core carbon-carbon bond and have an amino group (-NH2) connected at the 4-position on each ring. By placing two amino groups on either side of the central link, the molecule gains a symmetrical form. This substance has a wide variety of possible uses in several scientific domains.  It has been demonstrated in coordination chemistry that 2,2-bipyridine-4,4-diamine may form durable complexes with metal ions.
